Housing & Sustainable Livelihoods

Safe and dignified housing is a basic human need that provides the stability required for families to thrive. Our Housing program goes beyond construction; it integrates smart climate solutions to ensure that new homes contribute to a sustainable and empowered livelihood for vulnerable groups, including the elderly and homeless. Lapaa Taa provides more than a roof overhead; we provide a foundation for health, security, and climate-resilient prosperity.

Our Key Initiatives

Building Safe Homes

Building Safe Homes

We construct durable, weather-proof houses for individuals and families who lack adequate shelter, with a special focus on the elderly, child-headed households, and persons with disabilities. Every home we build incorporates eco-friendly features including rainwater harvesting systems, solar power installations for lighting, and energy-efficient cookstoves. This reduces utility costs and environmental impact while promoting resilience. Our projects often include the construction of improved latrines and hand-washing stations, elevating the overall health and hygiene standards of the entire community.

Home-Based Livelihood Gardens

Home-Based Livelihood Gardens

Each housing unit is paired with training and support for establishing kitchen gardens. Families are taught climate-smart agricultural techniques to grow their own food, ensuring nutritional security and creating a potential source of income from surplus produce.
